Nick Rider
QA Lead
Since he was a teenager, Nick has been involved with quality assurance in various ways; as an inspector for a hydraulics manufacturer, as an auditor of quality systems, as a calibration technician, and as a quality specialist. He has received certification as a Quality Technician by the American Society for Quality, of which he is also a member.

After moving from Portland, Oregon, to Brooklyn, New York, Nick found his way to Gamelab where he has been testing since December of '06.

Though he misses the hiking, cycling, and reasonable cost of living in the Pacific Northwest, he has found happiness in his new home with a slew of vegan restaurants, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and living without a car.

Nick's favorite games
Tecmo Bowl - This game doesn't get old. That is, unless you're playing against somebody that insists on being Chicago and selecting the unbeatable Pass 2 play to James Thornton on every offensive down.

Dr. Mario - There was a two year period of my life where I'd play this game every night before going to bed. It's simple and addictive.

Super Mario Kart - I never owned this game, but I loved it. I have fond memories of playing it at my friend's house after school and trying to build go-karts out of garbage cans and his neighbor's lawnmower wheels.

Cyclocross - It doesn't get better than riding and running your bike as fast as you can over grass, gravel, mud, and pavement as the cold morning air burns your lungs, the rain slaps you in the face, and your muscles wince with every pedal stroke and step you make.

2006 FIFA World Cup - This is probably the only way England fans will get to relive the summer of '66 for a while. And it's definitely the only way Trinidad & Tobago fans will see their team hoisting the World Cup trophy. An offer to play this game is never rejected in my household, where bragging rights to it are highly coveted.
